Use this chapter when a capability cannot start, an update does not complete, or you need to prepare useful information for support. For everyday “how do I use this?” questions, read Frequently asked questions.

Capability activation failed

Enable Word and LaTeX from Settings → Capability management. The status label describes the next step:
  • Needs upgrade / Upgrade recommended: update Office to Word 2022 or later, or Microsoft 365, and retry.
  • Unable to confirm: Otterflow could not determine the environment and did not change Office add-in configuration. Retry the check later.
  • Needs attention: follow the specific instructions displayed on the capability card.
Disabling and enabling a capability runs the check again, so reactivation can take longer. See Capability management for the complete status reference.

Check for updates

Many issues are fixed in newer versions. Open Settings → About and use the update control to check, download, and install the latest version.

Export useful diagnostic information

When contacting support, include:
  • the application version from Settings → About;
  • exact reproduction steps, expected result, and actual result; and
  • the affected feature and visible error message.
Specific information makes a problem easier to reproduce and resolve.

Contact us

Use the official website or community links in Settings → About to ask for help or submit feedback.

Advanced: Extensions (MCP)

For advanced users and developers only. Most users do not need this area.
The Extensions page is hidden by default. It appears only after Developer mode is enabled in Settings → About. It exposes low-level diagnostic capabilities such as Office MCP runtime status, connection diagnosis, and health-log export. Do not manually intervene in these services during normal use; Word and LaTeX activation should be handled from Capability management.
